Soccer Unity Project is committed to coming along side families and their kids to try to inspire the up and coming generation to be the best yet! When we see kids who have a fantastic spirit about them, no matter how young they may be, we see potential! This week we are very happy to announce that Luan Cavalcante from Bella Mente is our Player of the Week!
"With my role as a SUP coach, I get the joy of coaching all of the kids in SUP at our game days, and I always am excited when Luan is on my side. He is a joy to coach on the pitch because he brings that joyous spirit that is contagious for his teammates." - Coach Brian
As we all know, every child has their own unique personality, so we asked Luan a few questions to fill us in.
Outside of soccer, what do you like to do for fun? Ride my bicycle
What have you learned by being a part of SUP? To listen to the coaches, no complaining on the field because soccer is about positivity.
What makes a good leader? encourages teamwork
What's your favorite position in soccer? Forward, to score the goals
What's your favorite subject in school? Learning letters and numbers
Hats off to Luan, we hope he scores a hat trick!
SUP is so excited to see all the kids improving their skills on the field! It gives us great pride and motivation to see how just in a months time, we see better ball control, more confidence and most importantly, a better team atmosphere. This week's player of the Week is Madison Jones of Monte Vista. Not only does she thrive on the field, but she does a great job of encouraging her teammates during practices. She even jumped right into the SUP shop as a store manager.
"It's wonderful to see how as a 5th grader, Madison instinctively tries to help the younger teammates by teaching them how to play as a team and what to do when your team is on offense or on defense. That's why she has become the official team Captain at Monte Vista." - Coach Brian
We asked Madison a few questions so that we can all learn a little more about her.
Outside of soccer, what do you like to do for fun? Clean my house, take care of my cat and write poetry.
What have you learned by being a part of SUP? Teamwork is always the key to winning!
What makes a good leader? Heping my teammates out if they need help and being proactive.
What's your favorite position in soccer? Goalie!
What's your favorite subject in school? Math and reading.
We can't wait to see how Madi improves over the coming months and we're proud to have her in the SUP family! Be sure to say congrats next time you see her!
Soccer Unity Project is excited to see youth progressing in life, taking initiative and building up their teammates and peers! To up the ante, SUP wants to give praise to kids who go the extra mile and demonstrate being model students and role models. This week's Player of the Week is Waylon Graul, hailing from Temple Heights!
"Waylon is excited to try any position on the field, whether it's learning to play goalie, or going up top to try getting some goals. He's a great kid to coach and leads by example with his classmates and teammates!" - Coach Sarah
We can all see that this attitude in practice pays dividends on the field as in his last match Waylon played both of those positions and even got a goal!
We asked Waylon a few questions to see what makes this budding soccer star tick.
Outside of soccer, what do you like to do for fun? I like to go to dave and busters, play catch with my dad, and I like to build Legos.
What have you learned by being apart of SUP? Coach Sarah taught me how to do a volley.
What makes a good leader? To listen and follow directions.
What's your favorite position in soccer? Forward
What's your favorite subject in school? Math
If you see Waylon, be sure to give him a high five next time you see him!
