SUP's newest Player of the Week is a veteran of Soccer Unity Project at Empressa Elementary, it's 3rd grader, Alex Nicholson. He is a kid of many talents, playing soccer and being a part of Empressa's vocal choir that sang the National Anthem at a Padres game last season. One of the best ways for kids to learn the game of soccer is to see their peers thriving in it and taking ownership in the practices, drills and games.
"Alex shows a lot of positive leadership skills trying to help reign in some of his younger peers who are still learning the game and team sports in general. Alex sees the importance in following what his coaches are trying to get across to the team and encourages his teammates to do the same." - Coach Sarah
Alex took some time to answer a few questions so that we can learn a little more about him. Check it out, and be sure to congratulate him next time you see him, we can see him doing big things going forward!
